FAQ's

How much do classes cost?

Class tuition and fees cover a full school year, including 28 classes and 2 concerts.

Where are you located?

We hold classes in Marietta, near Smyrna. Because our students' safety is a top priority, we do not publish our exact location publicly. You are welcome to reach out to us at info@nmme.org or (470)729-1811 for more specific information.

How do I know what instrument my student should play? What size should we choose?

We offer a summer music camp in mid-July each year. This is a perfect opportunity to try out an instrument, and the instruments are provided for camp by Music and Arts . If you can't make music camp, you may visit a Music and Arts or Atlanta Violin location. The associates are knowledgeable and helpful, and will usually let your student try out the instruments. They can also help you decide what size you will need.

Does NMME provide instruments?

Students must provide their own instruments. NMME has a limited supply of instruments available for rent during the school year. Most of our families take advantage of the very reasonable rent-to-own programs through Music and Arts or Atlanta Violins.

Do you offer music lessons?

We do not offer private lessons. We offer students the opportunity to learn and play in community. It is always a good idea for students to take lessons on their instrument, and some of our directors do offer private lessons. Private lessons are arranged between a teacher and the student's family, and do not involve North Metro Music Education. You may see a list of instructors that some of our students use by following the link.

When do classes meet?

Concert Classes meet on Thursday evenings from 4:30-7:30 during the school year.

Can my student play guitar or piano?

We do not currently teach guitar or piano. However, if your student knows how to play guitar or piano well, they can join our Jazz Band, pending audition.

What instruments can my student learn?

Ages 5 and up can learn to sing or play the violin, viola, or cello. Ages 8 and up can learn all of the above or the trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, saxophone, percussion (drums).
